Getting to Know Autism
Autism, ADHD, OCD, and dyslexia are all part of my neurodiverse profile. These conditions shape who I am and how I navigate the world around me. I've dedicated my channel to sharing insights about these topics, aiming to educate and support others who might relate to my experiences.

Recognizing Common Traits of Autism
Before delving into my diagnosis journey, let's briefly touch on some common traits associated with autism. Autism is a neurological condition characterized by various behaviors and patterns of thinking. Individuals with autism often display obsessive behavior around specific interests, struggle with social communication, and thrive on routine and predictability. Additionally, many autistic individuals, including myself, find it challenging to make eye contact and can take language literally.
How I Got My Autism Diagnosis
My journey to diagnosis began with the observations of those closest to me. My girlfriend at the time, who was studying autism in university, noticed behaviors in me that mirrored what she was learning in her studies. It was her mother, a mental health nurse, who first suggested that I might be on the autism spectrum. At the time, I knew little about autism, but her insights sparked a curiosity that eventually led me down this path.
One of the defining moments came during a period of significant change in my life. I experienced a meltdown at work after returning from a vacation to find that my desk had been moved in an office relocation. This event, coupled with my literal interpretation of instructions and other subtle behaviors, prompted me to seek further evaluation.
Seeking Professional Evaluation

Following the advice of my counselor and recognizing the need for clarity, I pursued an autism evaluation through a specialist. The process involved several interviews and assessments to gauge my cognitive and social functioning. It was during these sessions that I began to understand how my unique neurological makeup aligned with the autism spectrum.
After careful consideration and thorough evaluation, I received my formal diagnosis. It was a profound moment of realization and self-discovery. Suddenly, aspects of my life that had felt confusing or out of sync began to make sense within the framework of autism.
The Impact of Diagnosis
Receiving my autism diagnosis was a pivotal moment that inspired me to learn more. I turned to online resources to deepen my understanding, but I noticed a gap in accessible, relatable content—particularly in video format. This realization motivated me to start The Aspie World YouTube channel. I wanted to create a platform where I could share my experiences, provide insights, and foster a sense of community for others navigating similar journeys.
Embracing Neurodiversity
Today, I continue to advocate for neurodiversity and autism awareness through my videos and online presence. My goal is to empower individuals on the autism spectrum and their families by offering practical advice, sharing personal stories, and promoting acceptance.
